Data Flow: Digital Influence
Curated by Kent Wilson and Mardi Nowak
The rise of the information era impacts all aspects of society, and art is no exception. New technologies pave the way for new forms of art. But the rapid flow of information and the way we understand a newly connected world also reinvigorates traditional mediums and resets our understanding of artistic intent and output. Featuring a wide range of artists and artworks, Data Flow casts an eye over the transforming arts landscape. Whether through the use of scanners as a form of image capture, the transfer of televisual imagery into painting or the iconography of text communications, this exhibition is an open investigation into how data flows through the production of art in an increasingly digital world.
